Hi Paint Lifers,
I just wrapped up a trip to Europe with Premier Brushes (I’ll fill you in on what I was up to in my next email). My wife and I managed to squeeze in a side trip to
Amsterdam— and let me tell you, it was everything I’d hoped for.
We rented bikes and cruised through the city, something I’d always wanted to do.
We rode down cobblestone streets with the canals on one side and rows of beautiful old buildings on the other, most dating back to the 17th century. Each building had so much character, with countless windows reflecting the sunlight and
precision paintwork that blew me away.
As we rode, I kept stopping to admire the buildings. Crisp lines and smooth surfaces would never suggest
these buildings were older than the United States.
Their upkeep reflects a level of care and attention to detail that I find inspiring, especially as a painter.
I couldn’t help but wonder about the crews who painted them and their process to achieve such flawless, seamless finishes.
It reminded me of my painting crews in Idaho and our pride in getting the details just right. We were always striving for that same level of finesse. And when it comes to achieving such precise, professional results,
caulking is the unsung hero that makes it all possible.
Whether we were sealing windows to keep out Idaho’s winter winds or creating flawless lines on cabinet jobs, caulking was the foundation of every project.
Mastering caulking is like tying knots for a sailor (a thought that crossed my mind while watching boats glide through Amsterdam’s canals). It’s an
essential
skill that anchors your craft, giving you a solid foundation to build on. Without it, you risk drifting off course.
That’s why I created my Online Caulking Course. Think of it as your
go-to guide for everything caulking: the best techniques, tools, and brands you need to protect, perfect, and elevate every paint job you take on.
Whether you’re painting exteriors, interiors, cabinets, or anything in between,
mastering caulking is the key to achieving professional-level results. Dive into the
Caulking Course to learn the essential skills every painter needs— whether you’re running a painting business or taking on home renovations yourself.
Happy painting (and caulking)!
Best,
Chris Berry
